Three and a Half Months

It's now been 3 1/2 months since I began the act of wrecking.
This is what has occurred since the last time this poor little journal made an appearance here.

It has been sent USPS from the Virgin Islands to Texas.
It has had the edges doodled upon.
It has become a poetry note pad.
It has had fat and thin lines drawn in it and an entire page colored.
It has been used as a flower press.
It's been ripped up and glued together.
It has had pages torn out, crumpled up and turned into airplanes.
It has had one word written in it repeatedly.

It is continuing to gather fruit stickers.
And now postage stamps.
It has had a secret message hidden in it.
It has the beginnings of a four-letter-word word list in it.
It has been used as a knee pad while gardening and a pillow on the beach.
It has also been used,
(though not for a lack of trying and there was a weary arm to prove it),
to knock coconuts out of a tree.

Oh I love this idea so much. I have never ever dared to start an art journal for the fear of wrecking it. This would be perfect for me, nothing can be done to it that isn't exactly the intention (other then ignoring it and leaving it as new).
Your journal is living an interesting life. So sorry it couldn't score a coconut for you.

Those sound like fun. A swap partner in Germany is doing one and loves it. My daughter did a book before this. I think I need to check this out!

LOL! Knocking coconuts out of a tree? I'm glad it wasn't successful because the coconut might have fallen on your head! Ouch!

The book sounds like fun. I've seen them in B&N and am just too compulsive to try one! LOL!

Hugs and good for you!

What a blast! This is such a great idea and so fearless and at the end you will have a wonderful journal to both look back on, and to inspire you in the future.

Such a grand idea, hopefully you can print out your blog post and place it in there too since the story of the journal is so varied and fun. ~ Angela
