Finish

I was talking to a friend last week about my word for the year.
She jokingly commented on how maybe I should have picked the word
FINISH.

Heh, heh... seriously though, she may have something there.
I do have a tendency to start a project and then get sidetracked from it, only to then let it sit there and collect dust.  All the while thinking how I should really finish that, because I really like it or it's a really cool idea.

Then a few days later as I was standing in the studio doorway looking at all of those unfinished projects, I thought of another friend and how she stated on her blog last year that it would be her year to finish all of the unfinished projects she had sitting around.

So I thought maybe, just maybe, if I stated it here for all the world to see,
{regardless of the fact that the whole world doesn't read my gibberish}
I will finish 12 unfinished projects this year.

There.  Stated.

PS.  Even though I unofficially thought I might maybe give a 365 photo project a go, again this year, I have  actually, unofficially, so far done it and have taken a photo a day.
I hope I didn't just jinx it.

lol - being finished is overrated - at least that's what I like to think... I have a lot of theories on this subject so just might have to choose this word for one of my months!
Twelve should be manageable though...

This is my first time visiting your blog. I'm so glad I stopped by especially for this post. I think I need to do the same thing and focus on finishing some (okay... a lot) of unfinished projects. Thank you!

How great to put out in the universe that you will finish projects!

This is my first time visiting your blog...was inspired to do so by your article in Artful Blogging.
I really connected with what you said about other blogs filling my artistic well!

By the way...my word for the year is flow. :)

Wishing you all the best,

I like the word "finish" - I do a lot of stitching, and once I am done, the "finishes" go into my closet, never to be seen again. I swore last year that I was actually going to "finish" them into something - whether it be a framed piece to go on my wall, a pinkeep, or something else, so I can relate to your abundance of unfinished projects! Good luck!!

I'm all for the finishing, as long as you don't feel you have eleven projects to do in the eleventh month! Yay you. Already so on top of things!

BTW, I think you should shoot whatever friends of these you have who poke fun at you for not "finishing" projects. How very discourteous.
