Paper Dolls

I have finished another swap!

But before I show you, let me just say that my photos... well, yeah. I'm starting to think we will never see the sun again and gray skies just don't do for decent photography. But life and blog posts must go on, so here they are!

This is the first time I have ever created paper dolls and was/am very nervous about it all. I mean, I didn't know if there were paper doll rules that had to be followed or something like that. I did do a little Flickr research and found her amazing dolls... awesome, aren't they?!

The swap details were to create 5 dolls between 4 and 10 inches tall. They could all be the same or all different. While browsing through one of my favorite shops one day, I found some old book pages that had "Flower Children" on them. I thought they would work perfect for this project.

So without further ado, here are my "Flower Children" on parade...

Sweet Alyssum

Johnnie-Jump-Up

Bluet

Lilac

Blue-eyed Flax

Bachelor Button

I know, that's 6 not 5, but I made an extra for a friend. I used a combination of vintage and new millinery on the dolls. They are supposed to be packaged in clear bags, but I can't follow rules. And I also wanted to incorporate their little rhymes, from the book pages, into the project as well. So again, with the fabric pockets... obviously an obsession happening here. Oh, and I was also supposed to put my personal information on the backs of the dolls. No room, so the tags were made for that.

I'm so crazy nervous about these! I really hope they are up to par. There are some fabulous artist in this swap!

These are marvelous!!!!! I have always loved paper dolls since I was a kid. Last week I won a set of 3 vintage lady paper dolls. I asked the artist if I could purchase 3 more to complete the set for the Christmas tree in my bedroom. Just goes to show you that some girls never grow up RIGHT? Yours are adorable. And I am so glad to see you don't color inside the lines or follow rules. Dance to your own drum. You go girl
