Every January Ali Edwards writes a post on "One Little Word". I think this is a brilliant idea. I have played along the last two years. You pick a word that you want to focus on and live by for that entire year. This year the word I picked was gratitude.
I have to say that is exactly what I am feeling right now. I am so grateful to all of you who wrote and sent such heart-warming, kind words. I know that in the big picture of it all, my "parent sadness" is small beans. But despite the smallness of it, you wonderful ladies (who have never even met me face to face) thought about me and sympathized or empathized and offered me hugs and shoulders. I truly cannot say Thank You enough. I am very grateful to each of you.
Gratitude hugs for everyone.
Alisa

Just read your post about your parents. I feel for ya. My parents did the exact same thing 4 years ago. Dad was laid off and he couldn't find work here so they found work in Atlanta. Being a 'parent's daughter' that I am, it was one of the hardest things I've been through. They finally moved back this past year. I'm sure you'll be traveling much to visit them. We went to ATlanta quite a bit...
Anyway, thought I would pop over and tell you I did a post about our virtual Jane Austen Book Club...

What a great idea! I love that: one little word. Hmmm, now I've got some thinking to do.
Great minds think alike! I love Alicia Paulson! I read about her in Country Living and now I am in love with her blog!
