Project Life {January Details}

I am so loving this project!
I'm shocked at how much I'm enjoying it, in fact.
When I finish up a week and am all caught up
{which is really saying something in itself}
I get all antsy and can't wait for the current week to end so I can get back at it.

I seriously doubt anyone is that interested in knowing what we do around here
every single week,
so I thought I would just share some little details of the book each month.

It's taken me all month to find my rhythm and workout how I want things to flow,
but I think I'm just about there.

When I decided to start this I knew I had to keep it relatively simple
or I would let it go to the wayside,
so I started out with using just four supplies:
the Olive Edition core kit, washi tape, stamps/ink and the ledger pages that were originally in the book.
I quickly realized it wasn't going to be enough.
So I dug around {pre-emptying of the studio}
and decided to use an old PAPAYA! Art weekly planner from 2009
that I couldn't bring myself to trash because Anahata's art is so delicious!
{I won't mention that if I decide to continue PL for the next four years I can continue to use a planner each year, as I have purchased one every year for the last 5 years,
but I won't mention that.}

When I ran out of photo paper
{so far I'm printing my own photos and using only phone pics}
and went to get more I ended up on Martha's aisle
{I had resisted for sooo long}
and realized I would probably need some labels.

Then...
I ran out of tape.
So I had to go to Hobby Lobby.
I don't have any idea how I got there,
but I ended up on the scrapbook paper aisle.
{I hadn't been down that aisle in a very long time}
I left the store with five paper pads.
Five.

In addition to those few supplies, I'm using small glassine envelopes to hold ticket and receipts and such, a Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher stapler, paper clips, a corner rounder and my favorite black Sharpie pen.
But that's it.
I probably won't add anything else, supply wise,
to this project.

I started to go back and tweak the first two week,
because I don't really like them,
but finally decided to just leave them be.
{I'll admit, that decision makes me twitch a little.}

So there you have it.
My first month of Project Life.

Have a great Monday!

I am just LOVING how this is looking! I'm glad you're enjoying it. It's going to be so special to have at the end of the year to look back on. And I give you credit because I don't know if I could keep up! I am using the TTV journal in the same way but only doing a few pages for the highlights of each month and ALREADY I'm getting behind! You are always an inspiration Alisa! Gorgeous peeks, thank you! have a happy Tuesday, xo nat

Right, back in England after 3 weeks in the American South West and buying an adobe south western style house, and I love what you did on your blog. I love your PL project, and I love your book. It looks great. And I love how you tried to simplyfy. Just like you I was in Hobby Lobby and found the scrapbook Isle again just like you. It's becoming scary... grin.
I have dozens of bits on my amazon wish list from the PL, but somehow nobody ever gets it for me. Might have to go in myself and buy it myself... grin. Your book is smashing... I will not repeat the LOVE part. You might start thinking I am a stalker of some kind. Nice work Alisa and in my mind I am trying to create a studio spot in the new house... Grin. Thanks for sharing your steps with us!
