Welcoming 2012

I can honestly tell you, this has been one tough year.
But, as always, there have been beautiful bits strewn throughout.
So as I say goodbye to 2011, I will do so with a thankful heart and carry with me the lessons painfully learned and hold tight to the memories of loved ones who are terribly missed.
I'm ready.
Really ready for 2012.

Early one day last month my word for 2012 leapt out at me.
It came out of nowhere.
I had a vague thought of knowing it was the right word, but pushed it away.
I was not ready to think about just then.
I still had two more months to get through.

It did, however, get me to thinking about this years word,
and I got to contemplating on where I stood with it.

I most definitely started off strong.
I most definitely achieved some of my action goals.
I most definitely failed at both my 365 projects!

I realized part of the problem I have with my word, is if I don't have it plastered up in front of me, I get too side-tracked sometimes.
So this year I decided to give myself a little extra help and I've signed up for Ali Edwards' class

I'm excited.
But then, every year at this time I get all tingly-excited.
Like what it must be to swim through a glass of Dom Perignon tingly.

Wait a sec.
I've totally forgotten to mention what my word is.
I got side-tracked.
{ha! see above}
That happens when the Farmboy walks into the room talking to me with a Scottish accent.

2012 is my year to be
Fearless.

Umm, but while it's still 2011 I better get into action and get my book made for the OLW class.

See ya on the other side!

OMG. i almost chose Fearless, Alisa. That is so weird. I even bought a datebook (then got an IPhone for Christmas...poor me!) Would you like Fearless Datebook? Just a little giftie?

I am actually looking forward to 2012. I usually have fear and apprehension about what the new year will bring. This time I'm just ready.

Great post Alisa. I love your word, and I love the idea of swimming through champagne - great descriptive!

What a great word, Alisa. Fearless. I like it. I'm still mulling over my word. And I've never heard of the One Little Word project/site, so I'm off to explore.

I like your 2012 word. I failed to produce up to my own expectations in 2011, and, as it has been a bit of a tough year, am glad to see it go. I am trying to look forward with a bit more optimism to the new year, and raising my expectations for myself. Best to you in the year to come!

Ok....don't laugh, but I woke up this morning thinking, "I've got to go check Alisa's blog for her word for the year."! Since "meeting" you, this has become a new tradition for me as well. I haven't settled on mine yet.....but will by the end of the day. Wishing you much happiness and many blessings in 2012. Happy New Year, Alisa!

I love that you have a 2012 word! And what a word it is! Fearlessness is a great attitude to have, and I think we would all succeed more in life with it! I look forward to reading how the year goes for you!

I think you did great at ACTION. Certainly you accomplished more than you would have, had you not focused on it. The OLW class sounds great. I'm excited for you and can't wait to hear how it goes for you. You will be FEARLESS. You will. Just choosing the word took guts.
