To Tradition or Not To Tradition

Day Two

I won't lie.
This has been a difficult holiday season for the Farmboy and I.
Too many important people missing.
Too much sadness.

However, I am most grateful that the sadness felt comes in short spurts.
Thankfully it has not been a constant.
That really makes a difference.
{ADD? If so, no need for Ritalin here... we'll take it.}

So we're doing things a little different around here this year.
Breaking with traditions.
For me, being me, this was difficult at first.
I'm a stickler for routine.
Not a fan of change.

But, I'm keeping a positive attitude.
Maybe we're making new traditions.

Hi, can't read what your page says with the handwriting. I had put on my blog about traditions. sometimes life just happens and we do make new traditions and just cultivate the old ones we can. Really like the title also Life is a Beautiful Place to Be.xo

I hate change too! I know I am a creature of habit though.

I think that change comes to us all at some point, and change at Christmas is very hard. Cultivating new traditions is a good way to deal with it.

I know how hard the holidays are when you've lost someone close to you. I think it's great you are trying something new. And maybe when some time has gone by, you can start working those old traditions back into the holidays little by little and it will make you happy instead of sad. Warmest Christmas wishes to you!
P.S. Your book really is gorgeous.

I think change is often scray but to do something a different way doesn't have to be bad, it can be ok too. Being able to adapt is the way we all eventually muddle through. Cherish those special memories and go on with creating new ones with you and yours. Mx

Love your book. You always make beautiful things. Hope you can make some new traditions and relish the memories of the old. God bless you. Happy Holidays :)

It is so hard to break with tradition but it sounds like a great plan & when things feel good again you can always bring the traditions back.

Change stinks.
I am glad you're trying to be positive though. Makes things a little easier. Here's to new traditions!

Oh, Alisa,
I know it is so hard. I find myself struggling, too. Know that I am thinking of you as you walk this road.
Big hugs,
Suz

Alisa, yes, some days, some years are like this, aren't they....

Snuggle in and just absorb the good things during those times when the sadness isn't creeping in.

Sending warm hugs....
Love,
Diane

See, you started out "Fearless" already by breaking Tradition. I am big on tradition, but sometimes it just can't be helped. Traditions are for enjoyment, but shouldn't tie us down or leave us feeling guilty, I say. So, good for you, dealing with this Christmas the way it needed to be dealt with. If it's any consolation, we didn't do a single one of ours this year. But, I know next year is going to be better!
