365

Today I was going to share with you my Project 365.
However as of yesterday evening, I now get to share with you my two Project 365s.

A few days before the New Year I decided, on a whim, to try my hand at capturing a photo a day, starting on the first and following through to the last day of 2011.

Now keep in mind that I'm that person that has five hundred and sixty-seven gazillion have finished projects lying around and double that many half filled art journals.

(seriously, I could not man up {or lady up in this instance} and tell you that it's not my fault. the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. but I won't say that or climb up any family trees here. I know, it is my fault.)

What I will tell you is this,
I thought this would be a breeze.
"I pretty much take at least one photo a day as is," I thought to myself.

HA!

But I'm not giving up so soon. I can do this!
(At least I know that I can for 7 days.)

I've put a link on my side bar over there -->. It shows the picture of the day and links to my 365 set on Flickr.

Now for my second Project 365.

Yesterday evening I met up with an old friend whom I had not had the pleasure of seeing in quite a few years.
Just getting to see her again was fabulous enough, and then she gifted me with the book Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy.

I am so super excited about this book!
And the best part of this 365 is that she picked one up for herself and we are both going to keep each other on track with it. Which means I'll get to see my dear friend at least once every month!

So there you have it.
365 days of action in the works.

What about you? Are you trying your hand at any year long projects?
I'd love to hear about them if you are.

Oh, Alisa, the photo is beautiful, first of all, as all of yours are. But the book...I'm surprised, totally surprised, that you haven't read it yet! Oh, girlfriend, you will LOVE this book!!! I've gone through it at least 3X and each time it says something different to me, depending, of course, on my mindset at the time, my openness for hearing what she has to say that's applicable to what's going on in my life at the time. Oh...hang on...because it's expanding! What a treat you've been given!
Hugs and blessings,
diane

Alisa, I will certainly look at your 365 set of photographs. Your work is always so lovely.

I love that book and have gifted it many times. I still use the gratitude journal idea and post 5 gratitudes every night. When I have done this, it has always made a difference in my life.

Enjoy the new year. I think we are both doing the Soul Restoration Workshop, so that is what I am doing for the first 6 weeks at least. And knitting. Lots of knitting!

What a wonderful friend! What beautiful photos! I want that egg cup!

I wish I could join the 365, but I'm so discombobulated as it is :P I'll look forward to seeing you!

I love your ambitions - and that you have way more unfinished projects than I do ; )
Simple Abundance is a fabulous book - I first read it in 2005 I think - or maybe 4, can't remember now but anyway - it'll change things for you. I have just ordered her new one Peace and Plenty, which I think will fit in with goal of achieving a state of pure contentment. Enjoy!

Hi Alisa!
I was doing (still doing?) the 365 photo a day thing, but on around day 140 I got real far behind. My problem was that I was printing every picture and gluing them into a book and writing captions in it, so I was doubling the work! I may go back to it. Sometimes I stress myself out with all the "year long" things I want to do. I usually do several, but keep one project a priority because I put that one in Scarlet's hope chest. This year I'm doing this book called "Q &A" that asks a simple question a day and runs for 5 years! So far so good! I think it's important to have some sort of projects that document your year, and I also think it's important not to beat yourself up if you don't keep up here and there! It shouldn't be a job, right? So have fun with the 365 photos! I'll look for them!
Happy weekend, xox natalea
