Crystals of Light

The last two weeks were difficult.
Nightmares became reality
and we were trying to hold onto the light.

For me, as luck would have it,
I was invited to a girls weekend getaway.
A respite from the dark.
A moment to recharge.

The weekend was full of beauty in every form.
I found myself housed in elegant charm
and surrounded by mother nature's loveliness.

There was friendship, laughter, hugs and many words of heartfelt kindness, as well as soul soothing creating.

But I think what touched me the most were the stories shared.
Stories of difficulty, heartache, loss, adjustment, tenacity, refound happiness and success.
Stories of life.

Stories that reinforced my belief that a life is as fragile as a piece of glass.
However, it can be strong and durable depending on how it has been cut.
Stories that touched my soul and will continue to inspire me probably for the rest of my life.

I was fortunate enough to get to spend the weekend with women, who like crystals cut from glass, let their light shine through them to share with the world.
Light I was looking for, to help guide me through the dark nightmare.

It wasn't until I returned home with the crystal light still swirling about my heart, that I truly realized the strength and cut of the loved one whose nightmare we have been sharing.
I saw the light shining bright through her and the rainbow of beautiful colors that she has cast upon those around her.

Yesterday brought us good news and our nightmare has changed for the better.
The path now may be only dimly lit, but there is most definitely a bright, shining, crystal light that can be seen from where we stand.

Crystal is a wonderful symbol for light - it refracts and expands it even more.
Thanks for visiting my blog this morning. Sending a wordless prayer for you and yours.

Came across you through "scented sweetpeas"....and so glad i did. What a wonderful, beautiful post.
It's incredible when we can grasp strength from those around us, and share our own as well.
