We haven't swapped December's ATCs yet, but I'd like to go ahead and show you what I came up with.
This card was a tough one to photograph, as it has multiple layers of different mediums, all pretty much the same color.
I started with a piece of natural colored muslin, backed with a piece of batting. I added a bit of cheese cloth to the top of that and sewed on a twig from the back garden. I then added a second piece of muslin to the back and hand sewed it all together.
Now for the fun part! I adhered my wording to it with natural colored bees wax. It had been a long time since I had pulled out my bees wax. I had forgotten how fun it can be. I slopped a layer of wax all over the card and quickly sprinkled very fine crystal glitter on it. I continued adding layers of wax, seed beads (clear and white), and some snow glitter.
And there you have it. I can't wait to see what the other girls came up with.
Now I'm off to create order out of chaos... we took all the Christmas decorations down yesterday, but this place is now an utter wreck.
Have a beautiful Sunday!

Bees wax, wow! I would never have thought that it could create such lovelies! It is not only pretty, but I am sure it must smell lovely too. I love the smell of bees wax candles! As for that chaos - I can sing a tune about that this weekend too, since I started to take down the Xmas decorations also. The tree is next, and that is the one that creates the mess chaos of all. Why is it that before christmas all that decorating chaos seems like fun, but afterwards it is such a chore. Like a vacation I guess, the packing to GO is fun, the unpacking upon one's return not so. :-) hugs, Debby
Alisa, it is so beautiful. I haev always been intrigued by using wax. I guess it is one of those things that you have to just get over the whole melting, mess thing and do. Good for you. Your work is dee-lish.
How Beautiful!!! I only wish I was swapping with you! Big New Year Hugs!
So very beautifull, like a fairytale.

Love your card. I have never worked with Bees Wax... something new to try. I so wish I had all the Christmas packed away.
Thank you for your hugs, prayers & support for Reba & I. I am waiting with baited breath for bloodwork results on Monday. Hugs! Charlene
Alisa, this looks so wintry and lovely! Lots of beautiful detail ~ Angela
It turned out lovely.. Love all the mediums you used. The beeswax is a great touch.. Really beautiful.
I know what you mean about the chaos.. Love Christmas but, it took me all day to take down, vacum, clean, dust.. I couldn't believe the dust.. Lol! When it is all put away I love how the house feels..
Your ATC is beautiful Alisa!! Happy New year!
Alisa, I looked at it up close and can see all the details really well! You've done (again) another beautiful project. It definitely says "winter" and the words are perfect to tell what Mother Nature is doing right now!
You can come here to PA to get more winter inspiration! Temps 'way below freezing and flurries at the moment.

Wow- your ATC is just stunning!!! Love it!
Alisa,
That is amazing! It sounds very magical and I can almost imaging the qualities that don't come through in the picture. What a creative ATC!
Beeswax sounds like so much fun but first I have to clean my studio so there is room for another addiction...
Good morning Alisa,
my friend Diane Knott suggested I peek in on you and your work.
So serene, lovely. I will certainly return for another visit.
Ugh my house was a disaster too and I was so relieved to put away all the decorations this past Sunday! I sooo love your atc and you are so clever to use sparkled beeswax on muslin!!
