Swap Goodies

Wow, I feel so out of the loop and lost right now. My farmboy and I went out of town this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary. I stayed away from the computer all weekend, but I think I've gotten almost all caught up on what's been going on.

Wednesday evening, before I left Thursday morning, I received an Enchanted Swap package in the mail from Julie. We shared who our favorite Disney Princesses were... mine is Cinderella. Here is what she sent...

Isn't that the most fabulous slipper you have ever seen!

And the Fairy Godmother wand!

And look at these sweet little extras she sent too. I love everything Julie! Thank you SO much!!!

Julie's favorite princess is the Little Mermaid... so I took it and ran.

Here is a rock candy bouquet and I picked up these great little bottles from the antique shop and turned them into "mermaid treasure bottles".

This was my first attempt at making a crown. Needless to say, I was very nervous about it. But I was pleased with how it turned out.

Here are some little mermaid collages I put together. Love german glass glitter!

I found a bag of seashells at an antique shop that already had holes drilled in them... jackpot! So of course an ornament had to be made. I also found these cute little sealife hankies and some sea inspired postcards and what mermaid princess doesn't need a "dinglehopper" to comb her lovely locks with!

And last of all I put in some Swedish Fish, "Water Sprite" sheet music and I found this silver shell "mermaid treasure chest". (It's actually a butter dish) I filled it with shells, shell buttons and pearls.

While I was gone, Wanda received her Marie Antoinette Box. So I can show you that now.

When I went to the craft store to get a papier-mache box I found this wooden jewelry box and had to have it to use. All queens need a jewelry box to put their royal jewels in! So I painted it Morning Blue then added a top coat of pearlescent paint and edged the top of the trim with gold. I had this wonderful blue pillow that had been in Pretty Lady's bedroom awhile back, but when we changed her room up I gave away most of the bedding and decor. However, I loved this pillow so much I couldn't get rid of it. I had no idea what I would ever do with it until I saw the top of the box. I cut the front of the pillow off, nipped the button in the center off so it would lay flat and slowly, in sections glued it to the box. I already had the frame, so I just popped out the picture that was already in it and replaced it with sweet Marie. This box turned out exactly the way I had pictured it in my head... that never happens!

Here are the goodies I put inside. Chocolates, french strawberry candies, some wonderful royal soap from Present Past Collection, some charms (shoe, crown and Eiffel Tower), an altered chandelier crystal ornament, a rhinestone tiara comb, a "French Market" candle and a pretty little "French Ladies" sign I made.

The image of the ladies is a download I found out about in Somerset Life. You can get it here. I printed it onto cardstock, painted bits of it with glitter glue, punched holes for the seambinding and added flowers and crystals and pearls.

On the back I painted stripes onto a french book page with Twinkling H2Os . Love these watercolors! Did some doodling, printed out my title and adhered it, flowers and ribbon. I really love how this turned out. I might have to make one for myself!

I really hope both Julie and Wanda liked their swap packages. I had a lot of fun with both of them.

Here is an ATC that will hopefully get sent out today... crossing my fingers. I have so much to get caught up on! Better get started.
Have a beautiful day!

FIRST, Happy Anniversary! I envy you your weekend getaway.
AND, I love your Cinderella goodies that you received.
AND, I totally love all the pretties that YOU made! OMG! You are so talented! Your mermaid package is just to die for. I love the crown! Mermaids are so inspiring, aren't they? Of course, I oohed and aahhed over the MA treats at flickr, but it was fun to come here and read about your process. Maybe sometime you and I could do a private swap of some kind? Something to think about while we catch up on all the other swaps, eh?

I am the luckiest Mermaid Princess EVER!!! Alisa, I have never been SO pampered via a swap! I still have everything in the box waiting for a new shelf in the bathroom to display it all! I unpack it everyday and am SO grateful! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I'm delighted that you like the slipper! I was going to embellish a real shoe, but decided to try to make one out of paper instead. It took forever to get the design right. It's a size 8 by the way. Hope it fits!

Have an enchanted day!!
Julie
