Hankies

So it's been hard going to get this post finished this morning due to the wind and the sunlight, breaking a vintage earring and the young Mockingbird that just flew into the house, couldn't get out and pooped all over my family room! But all is calm for the moment, so here we go.

Hankies. I cannot tell you how much I love hankies. It borders on obsession... no, it probably is an obsession. And it's been going on since the age of three. I can remember sitting in my great grandmother's house carefully holding and looking at her hankies with awe. I can remember doing the same thing in my grandmother's house with her hankies as well. I also remember sitting at the kitchen table picking out the perfect hankies to be made into dresses for my dolls.

So without further ado, here is a sampling of my obsession.

(these are all gray, but it's hard to tell due to the light. That first one is one of my favorites.)

(the one on the right met with an unfortunate accident with a pair of scissors. But the piece that was cut off went on to make a gorgeous scrapbook page of my neice as a toddler.)

I took some pictures of some pretty orange ones too, but I must have missed them when taking the pics off the camera. Now my farmboy is using the camera and I'll never be able to pry it out of his hand. He got his new lens yesterday and I was just lucky enough to grab it before him this morning.

So there you have it. Thanks for stopping by and looking! Today's Show and Tell is being hosted by Analise of Sugar*Sugar. Go on over and look at all the pretties!

Okay--it's not enough that you've got great hankies (I love the one with the little couple in red and white) but you've also got gorgeous weather to get those pretty "clothesline" shots! I thought about some outside shots but we've had flurries. Thanks for sharing your hankies and sun!

You had a hard start to your day!! It could only get better from there...

Your hankies are beautiful...it's amazing how a collection of something you love can grow (and I love that you were able to use the bit that met with the scissors for a memory keepsake!).
