The Meadow House {Closet Details}

If you want a golden rule that will fit everything,
this is it:
Have nothing in your houses
that you do not know to be useful
or believe to be beautiful.
~William Morris

And if you ask me,
that includes closet spaces.

First came the painting;
Sisal and Glass of Milk
and also the conversation.

Next came the purging and the sorting out of storage
for bags and hats and scarves and such.

Then the chandelier...
{I won that one.  He even cleaned it for me after we got it home and I didn't even ask him to.}
and the perfect bench,
both picked up at an antique show.

The finishing touches of whimsy,
a place for jewelry on the wall.

Even he can't deny it's a lovely space.
Now if I could just get him to put his shoes away.

Love your closet, especially the idea of hanging your jewelry on the wall. I have just the spot for that in my closet!! Where did you get the cute things to hang the necklaces on? The chandelier is beautiful.

Hmmm, I am tempted to go and buy some ear hangers just to decorate them in a tiny frame! The chandelier is gorgeous. I had one and gave it away! Darn it! Have been regretting this one for years. Your post opened up old wounds. Grin. The bench would look a lot better in my house then yours! Believe me. lol.

Hehe, I stick to the same rule :)
Your closet is beautiful, love the details and the jewelry on the wall. I used to have two huuuuge long drawers for mine, all divided into little spaces, but I prefer this system of yours. It's more practical yet decorative. Maybe, when I'll have a closet.... well, when I'll have a proper house to live in! Still living among piles and piles of boxes in a temporary accomodation. But I have my mannequin Johanna to help me organize my necklaces (or better, those I wear more often!).
Hugs!

A lovely closet like that would be a joy to walk into each day.

Alisa, I SO needed
to be inspired by this,
today : ) I have been
putting off the big
closet PURGE for over
a year....well, even
longer, as the last purge
was really a mini-purge
and not the deep kind
that you describe. I
love your hooks, your
stool, your chandy,
the frames ~ perfection!

Happy Wednesday,
xo Suzanne
