Storms On the Horizon

I have had a few storms sitting on my horizon.
Big storms.
Possibly life altering storms.
Some have been there for quite awhile, waiting to roll in at full force.
I suppose I knew it would happen sooner or later.

I have yet to decide if it is best to fare one storm at a time or have multiple storms hit me all at once in one fail swoop.
I suppose it really just depends on the storms themselves...
their type, their force, their duration.

What I do know, and I know this with every fiber of my being, is that I get to choose how I react to them; both during their frenzied passage through my world, as well as after they have died down.
I hope I am always able to have enough strength afterwards to see the significance of the storm.
To learn from it.  To grow from it.
To be better for it.

I can see a few more out there.
I know some might blow themselves out before reaching me and others might not.
But right now, I am ready for a little sunshine.

Oh, Alisa. Life can be so hard sometimes. I have a very hard storm on the horizon. At the hardest time in my life, I am possibly losing my best friend...of fifty years. I know how storms can be and I will think of you as we both try to grow and learn and make sense of this turmoil hitting us. I keep telling myself that old saying...'to thine own self be true."
Big hugs,
Suz
PS...Congrats for your article in Holiday and Celebrations. I looked at the cover and thought, that doesn't look like you. I love what you did. Very Scandanavian! I am sure all the Minnesotans here will enjoy your work.

Hoping your storms pass quickly and easily. Sometimes life can be rough but you are right - you can choose how you react. Praying you find peace and grace. :)

I think of sunshine when I think of you. Quietly bringing lots of light. I hope whatever storms you have pass quickly.

Oh, Alisa, I'm so sorry. The worst things are the ones we can't control, aren't they. They happen and then we just have to try to be strong and do what we need to do. Not always easy. I wish I could hug you.

Blessings, Diane

Alisa, wishing you peace and lots of sunshine, though with far lower temperatures than we have seen this summer!
