One of the very first things in Alicia Paulson's Embroidery Companion
that inspired me, was her pattern illustrations.
They are crisp, clean and colorful.
that inspired me, was her pattern illustrations.
They are crisp, clean and colorful.
Often times, while out and about, I will notice the flourish in a corbel or the pleasing plant composition in a garden and think how pretty it would translate into stitching.
So I tuck the image away in my mind for future reference.
However, my memory is not what it used to be!
After seeing the illustrations in the Embroidery Companion,
I decided I needed a stitching journal.
A place where I could keep inspiring images, favorite stitches and color combinations.
So I made one.
It's just the right size to tuck into my purse when I'm out,
in case I see something inspiring
and it also fits perfectly in my stitching case to be referred to any time I need.
Now comes the fun part...
filling it up!

That's a great idea Alisa, and a beautiful book! I understand comletely what you mean about the memory not being what it used to be - I need to make a book too!
What a lovely idea.
That's pretty. Good idea. Except, you must have so many different kinds of journals floating around, you need a journal to remind you what journals you have and where you keep them. :)
Tru dat Cheryl!!!
