I've been plugging away at my garden journal and thought I'd share a few of the details going on within the pages.
I've been trying to keep the embellishments fairly flat, but it's been difficult to not add piles of frothy millinery. But I can proudly say, I haven't done it.
A lot of the tags and cards I'm using are from Brandywine Boutique and Star's Fault.
And gesso and charcoal have been my best friends throughout.
Now, if I can only finish it before winter!
And speaking of gardens and foliage, today I would like to leave you with this deep ponder....
Why is it that the day after you have spent hours trudging about in treed creek beds, trying to get the best senior portraits ever taken, no amount of scrubbing with handfuls of soap leaves you feeling like you don't have poison ivy all over your body?
Oh, alright. Maybe that's not a deep thought. But really!

Alisa these pages are wonderfully yummy!!!! I also love Brandywine Boutique:) Hope your week is going well!! Love, Jamie
Beautiful pages as always, Alisa. And, I had to laugh about the scrubbing to rid yourself of poison ivy - I did that as a kid when we lived near poison ivy. It's also kind like feeling like you have ants crawling everywhere when you find yourself amongst an anthill or two, and you really don't have any ants on you.
Your garden journal is so pretty Alisa - love those tags you´re using

A beautiful work in progress! And, it sounds like you are enjoying the journey, which is really the point. Funny about being out in the woods. The ones around here {Midwest} can make me itchy, but not the ones in the Pacific NW, which tend to have huge fir trees and forest floors covered in ferns....NOT poison ivy!
Happy Wednesday. xx P&H
PS: Thank you for your lovely comment on my last post about Sasha. I'm having a giveaway now, so take a peek : )
Actually, Alisa, you could take your straight needles out of your project (carefully) and insert circulars and away you go!

Ah, Alisa! Breathtaking. LOVE all your beautiful details. I'm inspired to get some gesso ;)
Love the journal! I bet it is hard to stay with a flat surface... we're no longer use to that! :)
I have a challenge myself to create a page that is flat... I hope I can make it work! ...back to the old way of scrap booking.
enjoyed our chat yesterday.

Joanna
