Despite being on the fringes of Hurricane Ike yesterday, I went to a scrapbook crop. Nothing can stop a bunch of crazy female scrappers! In addition to laughing my butt off and having a great time, I finally finished a project I've slowly been working on. My "Love Notes" book.
I purchased a Valentine's Day kit, as well as, a supplement kit from here last February. The main kit contained a chipboard heart album and box to house it in, along with an assortment of papers and embellishments. The supplement kit had more paper and embellishments. This however, did not stop me from adding a few of my own. It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to do with all of this beautiful stuff, but it finally came to me. I have kept all of the cards that come with flowers and all of the little love notes my Farmboy has ever given me. They were just sitting in a box, until now. I thought this would be the perfect place for all of those sweet notes.
Here is the front cover.
And here are all of the inside pages. You can click on the pictures to see them bigger.
So now that the book is finished, do you see how thick it is?
It won't fit into the box it came with.
So I think what I'll do is keep the book sitting out and use the box, since I already decorated it, to hold all of the regular sized cards that my Farmboy and I have given each other.
Hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend and to those of you who were in the Ike's path, my thoughts go out to you. I hope all is well or soon will be.

I'm glad you are carrying on life as usual with regard to Ike, though I know if it was in your front door you wouldn't have done the crop -- you are much too sensible -- and you can't live in "fear" when something isn't "imminent" to you.
That said, I love your book and the cover is GORGEOUS!!!
Very, very sweet. Looks like a box of chocolates (said in the voice of a certain movie character...)

Alisa, both are beautifully and professionally done! Everything you do is done to perfection.
I'm glad you didn't get blown away by Ike!

Alisa, this is so fantastic. What a great idea. I wish I had thought of it.
What a fabulous project! Definitely the right thing to be doing this past Saturday. Dallas didn't get too much wind or rain. It was just a slow drizzle all day long......great weather for attending a crop! Happy Monday.

Alisa - this is fabulous. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I think you should make more for your etsy shop and put my name on it!! Just gorgeous.
This is a beautiful book! I love all the techniques you used on the hearts! *Heidi*
Glad all is well at your place. Your book is fabulous! Everything is just so beautifully put together. Have fun! I'm crazy busy - not a lot of blogging time, I'm afraid...but stay in touch! :)
Your Love Notes book is sweet and will be a wonderful rememberance! Great job!
Oh my gosh! Its sooo pretty! I love it. Very sweet. We had a little rain and wind from Ike, but that was it.

How precious!!!! I love it... I would love one for my daughter..
That's beautiful! I love it. After 18 yrs. together, I have no clue where all my "love notes" are. DH is very good about sending flowers through out the year, but I just tuck the cards in little places. I probably have several at work since that is where I receive most of the flowers. I love that you have kept up with your "notes". Can't wait to see more of your creations... I know you're cooking something up. :) xoxo, Joanna
