Studio Friday, March 9

Fragile:

I don't have to think twice to know what is most fragile in my studio.
It is my confidence.
I know it shouldn't be, yet it is. For a long time I wouldn't even consider myself an artist because I wasn't "Van Gogh." Always concerned how others would view my art and how they might criticize it.
But I know my art is for ME. It is MY expression of MY experience. It is created from MY feelings with MY hands.
It is time to knock down the barrier and...
FLY

The more work you do, the more confident you will feel. It is a long, ever-evolving process. Another great quotation from Thoreau:

I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.
-Henry David Thoreau
